Bethany Treats for Your Fur Baby
My hubby and I just recently adopted our first ever fur baby. His name is Behr and he is a stunning Gordon Setter with floppy ears, a shiny black coat and light brown patches on his chest, eyebrows and paws. He has quite a personality at 7 months old, not that I'm bias or anything! I did not grow up around dogs and was a little skeptical at first. Fast forward a few months and I'm completely in love with this sweet little (big) puppy. With that being said, I am currently obsessed with anything and everything "doggie." I swoon over dog sweaters and eye leather collars, all dreaming of how cute my Behr would look in them. I spend countless minutes looking over all the dog beds available, trying to find the most comfortable one for my pampered pup and carefully considering which toy he might enjoy most.
Yes, I've turned into that person I used to make fun of. You know what I'm talking about - the person that you might make fun of too if you have never experienced the love of a sweet dog. The person that thinks their canine is an actual child. The person that talks about their dog all the time and shares videos and pictures with random strangers. If you've never loved a dog, then you probably won't get it. But if you've come home to a sweet little floppy eared baby, tail wagging, so happy to see his mom or dad walk in the door, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.
If you are that same person, then you'd appreciate one of my favorite little dog boutiques that my husband and I stumbled across this past summer. Even before we adopted Behr, we had the itch to start looking for a dog. We happened to be in Bethany Beach one hot day, heading towards a day on the water. We made a quick pit stop to grab lunch and happened to notice the Yuppy Puppy Boutique on Garfield Parkway right behind the Palms store. It's connected to a strand of beachy shops. Right infront of the store is a wooden board walk with benches strewn for wandering beach goers. It's quite a happy area. When we ventured inside, I was amazed at their variety of merchandise for pets and their parents. They had an entire wall of leashes in every color with multiple design choices. But the best part, had to be the 'bark'ery. Strewn before me was an endless array of what looked to be edible cookies for human beings! They were elaborate and decorated with icing and messages such as "Happy Birthday!" I was amazed that these gorgeous treats were for canines and not men and women! They sure looked good enough....
Needless to say, we will be frequenting the Yuppy Puppy over the course of our lives for our newly adopted fur baby. Behr's first birthday is this summer, so it works great with their store hours. They are open during the summer from 10am-10pm, 7 days a week. Like most beach stores, their hours vary and shift during colder months. According to their Facebook page, they open back up in the Spring, and since spring is fast approaching, we thought you may want to keep an eye out to be notified of their availability. Trust me, it'll be work the trip to check out their boutique for yourself! To view their website, click here. To view their Facbeook page, click here. We hear that they do fun events for dogs on certain weeks of the year, such as serve free puppy pizza and pancakes. (I just informed my hubby that we will be taking Behr to those gatherings...)
