Thanksgiving is upon us! And while we are already looking forward to the winter holidays, it is important to avoid overlooking this special day in November. In the midst of life’s chaos, hustle, and bustle, it is extremely beneficial and healthy for the soul, to stop. To stop, smile, and admit that there is happiness, contentment and fulfillment in what we already have. To pause one moment and slip out of the rat race long enough to be thankful for life’s blessings – the ones we most take for granted: life, health, family, and the little things.
In addition to your list of things to be grateful for, we’ve got a few reminders of why “Being a Delaware Resident” should be one of them!
#1 - Delaware is extremely “Tax Friendly.”
There is no state sales tax in Delaware. (Can all the shopaholics wave their hands?) As a matter of fact, Sussex County actually tied for 2nd place among all US counties in being one of ...

September and October are always such fun months. The heat of summer is waning and the cool fall breeze is gently taking its place. There is a sort of smile in the air as everyone enjoys a perfect mix of sunshine and cooler temperatures, while communities start taking advantage of everyone's communal desire to have old-fashioned fall-time fun. Cue the fall festivals, magical moments, hay rides and laughter.... fall is here!

They say you should never assume, but when the name is "Grandpa Mac," it's a pretty safe bet to guess that they serve pretty much all things pasta. It's the mac-and-cheese connoisseur's paradise and it's all brand new in two locations at Rehoboth Beach! Just a few weeks ago, my husband and I mustered up the courage to try this new venue next to the Tanger Outlets right off Coastal Highway. It is always a risk to try a restaurant solely devoted to a traditional dish like mac-and-cheese. The bar is automatically set very high and you walk in with all sorts of expectations. I told myself not to expect much, but boy was I blown away!
Above: Grandpa Mac booths featuring original artwork by the owners - Coastal Hwy. location.
First of all, the branding for this restaurant is on point. Gigantic artwork graced the walls and I was blown-away to find out that it was all original and hand painted by the owner. Even the chairs had the "Grandpa-Mac" logo etched into the wooden back ...

I've been to and through Dover a million times! They've got some great shopping (a brand new Burlington Coat Factory and Ross) as well as tons of tasty restaurants to choose from. On our way into Dover we would always pass the Air Force base. As a matter of fact I've hear the base used on numerous occasions as a landmark. "I'll be there in about 15-20 minutes. I just passed the Dover Air force base." And as familiar as I was with the location, I never gave it much more thought besides the fact that I thought it was pretty cool to have a United States air force base so close by.
Imagine my delight to find out that not only is the base nearby, but so is the Air Mobility Command Museum! Hand in hand with the base, this museum sits at 1301 Heritage Road in Dover. It showcases a stunning collection of rare vintage aircraft. Talk about a fun place to visit with the relative that's always had a thing for airplanes and vintage machinery! Explore history right before your eyes as y ...

Just a few months ago my hubby and I were walking around downtown Dover. As you might expect the capital of Delaware to be, it is largely government buildings and offices in the historic capital area. A few shops and restaurants are scattered down around the actual capital building, but for more shopping and dining you usually have to venture further away. That is why we were pleasantly surprised to find a charming restaurant all within walking distance of the capital. We had passed by it on several occasions, but this time were able to stop in.
The Grey Fox Grille and Pub is a family owned and operated business. Named after the Delaware state animal, this unique and fresh dining establishment provides a playful yet classy vibe for diners. When you walk in, you feel as though you are in an impressive restaurant with gourmet food, but you also feel relaxed and comfortable. Come in business dress or casual clothes for lunch or dinner and you'll fit right in. On Mondays the re ...
